The Ripening

Posted by dixie on Apr 28 2009 | Gardening

Ripening

One of those tomatoes that I thought would never ripen is finally ripening. These are some fat little tomatoes.

Jasmine

This jasmine smells so good. Hopefully these vines will grow, grow, grow this year.

Happy Earth Day!

Posted by dixie on Apr 22 2009 | Gardening

Hi Happy Readers,

All I can say is that I seem to use Facebook instead of writing blog posts these days. I swore I would never use Facebook. One day I caved and opened an account and now I spend way too much time on there. There is so much to write about though, especially now that it is spring and there are flowers blooming and gardening to be had. So I promise to try to write more substance here rather than status updates on Facebook.

Anyway, in honor of Earth Day, I present some photos from my recently installed vegetable garden. Grow your own veggies!

Cherry Tomatoes

I am not sure these guys will ever ripen, but I am holding out hope.

The One and Only Bell Pepper

A bell pepper, which I may remove because the plant is not going anywhere and the pepper has black spots on it.

Garden, Before

These are the raised beds that we built. The left one has veggies and the right one has herbs. We put a fence around it because the dirt was very appealing to Sherman. This photo was taken a month ago so the plants are a bit bigger now.

Chim Chim a Roo

This is Chim Chim, because he is cute. We might be fostering a cat soon. Stay tuned!
