Last night we arrived at the Drafthouse behind some McCain supporters. I imagine it took a lot of guts to go to the Drafthouse as a McCain supporter, but one woman was wearing it proud. This may sound harsh, but first appearances made one think perhaps of a soccer mom living in Westlake or Tarrytown. We soon realized they were a large group. Well, large as in 10ish.
We took our seats while, I guess, the group gathered in the lobby. They sat themselves in the row behind us and quickly ordered beer. We had to move. We felt that having drunk McCain supporters behind us could potentially make us angry. We moved to a more Obama-friendly area, although really that was anywhere in the theater except the McCain row. When the audience was asked who was there for each candidate, they were the only audible McCain supporters. There were a few Ron Paul people though. The Obama people were cautioned to be nice to the McCain people.
I cannot help but think that the Vote for Proposition 2 video that aired before the debate was lost on that McCain row.
Do we have meal vouchers already for the VP debate on Thursday? You betcha.
