Penguins and Music

Posted by dixie on Dec 29 2005 | Animals, Movies, Rock Shows

We finally watched March of the Penguins this week. We had been avoiding it because we knew it would be sad. It was very sad indeed. However, baby penguins are freaking adorable!

It reminded us of when Chim Chim was a kitten with his cute little fuzzy face. Oh wait, he still has a cute little fuzzy face.

On the music front, it has been said that Belle and Sebastian will be playing SXSW. This news deserves a big BOO! That means they will be one of the big shows and it will be impossible to get in and ridiculous lines and BOO! I want them to play at The Backyard like they have in the past. A real show where you can buy tickets and be assured admittance. This little ploy may just work though to make us buy music wristbands next year. But probably not.

Holiday Blahness

Posted by dixie on Dec 26 2005 | Animals, Knitting, Photos, Random/ Life

We are still sick. We spent our holiday vacation sleeping and staying cooped up in the house. Today we left the house to get more cold meds and groceries. It was our first time out in 3 days. The weather has been nice and warm and sunny and we missed it.

While cooped up:
I knit Clint a hat, which is too big and needs to be redone. That makes two hats in a month that turned out huge. I guess that is what I get for not knitting swatches.
I came this close to finishing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on the Game Boy. I now have video game arm repetitive stress pain.
I inventoried my envelopes. For real.

Here is our next door neighbor’s cute cat:

She wants to come live with us. We want her to come live with us.

Now I am taking my medicine head to bed!

The Past Few Days

Posted by dixie on Dec 22 2005 | DIY Shopping, Random/ Life

All holiday presents are off as of Tuesday! We had many more YWI orders than anticipated this season (yay!) and did not make as many things by hand as anticipated, but we did buy handmade as much as possible! I wanted everything off by Tuesday night so that I could watch the Nip/Tuck finale stress-free!

The Nip/Tuck finale was lame!

Our iPod died on the way to a holiday party last Saturday! Clint put it on the Wedding Present, hit forward to the next song, and zap! the thing got stuck! The screen stayed lit, the music would not play, and the iPod would not turn off! Then it got really really hot! It had finally turned itself off by the end of the party! We visited the Genius Bar at the Apple store on Sunday! They gave us a refurbished iPod but not before trying to make us pay $30! They tried to say the iPod was more than 180 days old, but it wasn’t! Apparently, the store had registered it when it came in April so it looked like it was purchased then, but it was not purchased until late June! Lame-o! We did not pay! Clint gave attitude! Yay!

We have a small group of ladybugs clustered in our laundry room! Nifty!

Clint and I both stayed home sick from work yesterday! We had some weird flu/cold thing! The weird thing is that every symptom came on at the same time for each of us! Mildly sore throat turned aches and chills turned horribly sore throat and exhaustion! I feel better today but I have a cough!

I! am! so! excited! today!
