Scraggly Squirrel

Posted by Dixie on May 29 2005 | Animals, Photos

She came back on Friday! And boy, did she get her fill of pecans…
pecan!

You can see her split ear better in this picture…
yummy

She must have told all the neighborhood squirrels about the tasty pecans because I was working inside when I felt a squirrel stare. This lady squirrel watched me process photos for a good long time.

Here’s to hoping Scraggly Squirrel is street-wise and stays away from the road. I like having a cute little squirrel come take pecans from my hand. She even jumps up and puts her two front paws on my leg. Cuteness!

A New Adventure

Posted by Dixie on May 25 2005 | Animals, Crafty, Paper Goods, Random/ Life

I donated 30 cards to The Sampler this month and so I bring you Young and With It Industries.

I get to go hang out with retirees at work today and play bingo, erm, or knit, while they play bingo.

In other work news… last week there was a squirrel sprawled out on the railing above the lake. She looked like she was ready to end it all right then and dive into the lake. Later (after deciding it wasn’t time to go yet) she came closer and we noticed that she was roughed up a bit – one of her ears was split in the middle and her tail was all scraggly. We have named her Scraggly Squirrel. She likes pecans. And so we feed her.

Not Cool

Posted by Dixie on May 21 2005 | Food, Photos

celebrity tomato

I have been nurturing this tomato for some time. It is the first of the celebrity variety to appear and it has been getting bigger and bigger and then… CRUNCH! Now I have an inedible tomato. Whatever animal did this is not cool. It is the only tomato on the plant.

On the other hand, my little sungold cherry tomatoes are doing quite well. I even ate three in a salad the other night and they were delicious. Yum. The only problem I am having is getting them off the plant before the birds snatch them.

You know the kitty bag I mentioned yesterday? Well, my awesome Mom ordered it for me. Yay! I will soon be styling with a drumming kitty bag. Thanks Mom!

Hmmmm… you know those ipods people talk about. I think they’re pretty neat… hint, hint.

I am off to the orthodontist this a.m. Advil in the bag? Check.
