Somehow I have not been following the excitement surrounding The Sampler. I plan to rectify the situation today by checking the website every hour for subscription spaces to open up. I hope to snatch one of them up! Surprise crafty goods landing on my doorstep! What more could I ask for?

We went to see from bubblegum to sky last night. They were so good. The drummer was super cute because she sat up high and smiled and hopped (for lack of a better word) a lot. Good stuff.

Happy Day!

I hope everyone has a nice, happy, filling day on this tofurky day. I am excited to be making a vegetarian stuffing from scratch for dinner tonight. yum.

I would like to point out that there is nothing worse than being stuck in a grocery store the afternoon prior to Thanksgiving Day. Wait! Going to two grocery stores could be worse! I could feel my blood boiling at the first store and I thought I would explode at the second store. grrrr…

As I was walking through Whole Foods yesterday, I became stuck in traffic. There were two shopping carts next to me that were stalled and a sunglasses-wearing-inside older lady walking towards me to box me in. The rude sunglass lady pointed at me and said, “You are standing right where I need to be.” It was apparently not clear to her that I was actually trying to walk forward and she was blocking me in. Maybe those sunglasses made it hard for her to see. grrrr…

This is a gentle reminder to be considerate of your fellow humans this holiday season. And to take off your sunglasses while inside.

There are many pictures and tales to tell, but I gotta tell you that we are pretty pooped so they will have to wait. Goodnight!

Incriminating Evidence

My pal Lisa documented the night of the fashion show in photographs. Even though it is embarassing, I direct you here to watch it unfold. For some reason, I look pissed in that first photo. Since Lisa was in the show too, she has no actual runway shots.

Speaking of fashion shows, I went to Stitch: handmade revolution last night. The music was pretty great, the company was great, and the wares were pretty great. A good night indeed. I loved looking at all the guerrilla craft vendors and wanted to buy many items. However, I refrained and only bought a tiny knitted flower pin to wear with the wedding dress.

I also went to a housewarming party at Lisa’s yesterday (see her awesome decorating) and Clint and I went to a Yo La Tengo show, part of the New Yorker College Tour, on Saturday night.

Also, the Andersons – Ryan and Jennifer – finally made it to their new home in Austin. Yay!

Uh, it was a very busy weekend. This means I still have much to do before the wedding this weekend. Eek!

And… we also made it on the guest list (thanks KOOP!) to see (Smog) on Wednesday. This is like a solo bachlorette party for me. The Chronicle stated last week that Mr. Callahan is living/ or staying in Austin now?! Clint gets a belated bachelor party in December with Neko Case, so we are even. And we bought tickets to see the Magnetic Fields in December. There seems to be some confusion with when the tickets were to go on sale, but we scored second row seats. Awesome!

Whew! I think that is all for the moment…

The new book in the Debbie Stoller knitting series, Stitch ‘n Bitch Nation, is out in bookstores now. Yay! I picked it up after work yesterday. I see several projects that I would like to make already – including cat toys, a belt, and a flower headband. I love that she dedicated the book to her dog; her acknowledgement to him is quite touching.

I will be walking down the runway this evening in the Club DeVille fashion show. I am ‘modeling’ for Parts & Labour. Eep! Wish me luck that my clutziness doesn’t act up.
