Ouch

So I had my oral surgery yesterday and it was no big deal. In fact, the spacers that the orthodontist put between my lower molars on Thursday are causing me a whole lot more pain than the surgical site.

I was feeling a little stressed before the oral surgery because they were so elaborate. They put oxygen in my nose which really frightened me! I don’t remember the oral surgeon who pulled out my wisdom teeth giving me oxygen.

They tucked me all in with a blanket so I would stay warm. So considerate. Then the oral surgeon began going into great detail with what he was giving me in the IV: “sugar water… steroids… narcotics… the room will begin to spin… valium”. Sure enough, the lights overhead started doing this little dance back and forth almost immediately. And that’s all she knew. I was out.

So, I slept quite a bit yesterday, watched bad daytime television like Classmates, Riki Lake, Good Day Live, Ambush Makeover, etc. and then Clint brought home Dirty Pretty Things, which features Audrey Tautou in a not so cutesy role. It was a pretty good watch for a movie about stolen body organs.

Well, anyway, I think I am supposed to take it easy today but I feel pretty OK. Except for those bottom molars that are being forced apart against their will.

Next week the rapid palate expander goes in. I can’t wait to acquire the speech impediment that will go along with it.
